    How do I schedule an appointment?

    An intake appointment can be schedule through our website by going to the “Appointment Request” page under the “Get Started” Tab, or by using the phone and email information in our “Contact” tab. Your therapist will schedule the next appointment with your during your session, and you can contact admin for any changes.

    What populations do you service?

    Coastal Pointe Counseling works with individuals 14 years of age and older.

    Do you have evening or weekend appointments available?

    Evening appointments are available on a first-to-schedule basis. Current clients have the option to set recurring appointments to secure a regular session time.

    Do you accept insurance?

    Please see our “Rates and Insurance” page under the “Getting Started” tab.

    Do you accept HSA/FSA?

    We accept HSA and FSA payments for sessions.

    Do you offer Teletherapy?

    Virtual appointment are available to individuals in North or South Carolina using the HIPAA-compliant platform Zoom.

    What platform do you use for Teletherapy?

    We utilize a HIPAA-Compliant version of Zoom for Telehealth.

    What do I need to do to prepare for my first appointment?

    After you have set up an appointment through out admin, you will be instructed on how to complete your intake packet ahead of your first session. Please also be sure to have a reliable internet connection and a private place to conduct your session if you will be using the telehealth option.

    What if I need to cancel my appointment?

    Please see our “Rates and Insurance” page under the “Getting Started” tab for our cancellation policy.

    Can I have my therapy session in-person?

    Our physical location is in Pawleys Island, SC. If client’s are unable to travel to this location, we do offer virtual appointments to individuals in North or South Carolina.

    What should I expect during my intake session?

    Your therapist will use the intake session to establish a positive therapeutic rapport, discuss relevant information in your intake packet, and to establish your counseling needs and therapy goals, as well as reviewing the Costal Pointe Counseling policies.

    Do you prescribe medication?

    No, only a licensed Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatrist, or Physician can prescribe medications. 

    Do you give a diagnosis to clients?

    Your therapist may use a diagnosis as way to aid in treatment. However, this diagnosis remains private unless required by a court subpoena or if a client submits an out-of-network claim to their insurance carrier.

    Who do I call for a criss?

    In the event of an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital emergency room. If a client is in need of a sooner appointment time, please contact us by phone or email and we will do our best to accommodate these needs.

    How many session will I have?

    The number of therapy sessions depends on each individuals needs and their progress towards meeting their counseling goals. We suggest weekly session for at least the first 4 to 6 weeks to build a positive relationship with your counselor.

    What if I am running late for my appointment?

    Coastal Pointe Counseling has a 15 minute policy for appointments. If clients are later than 15 minutes, it will be considered a no-show. If you believe you will be late for your appointment, please contact admin so they can update your therapist.
